{"id":84,"date":"2019-05-21T17:32:54","date_gmt":"2019-05-21T21:32:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/seidenbenefits.com\/News\/?p=84"},"modified":"2019-05-22T13:08:08","modified_gmt":"2019-05-22T17:08:08","slug":"action-required-by-members-who-requested-to-have-their-premiums-withheld-by-ssa-rrb-in-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/seidenbenefits.com\/News\/action-required-by-members-who-requested-to-have-their-premiums-withheld-by-ssa-rrb-in-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"Action required by members who requested to have their premiums withheld by Social Security or Railroad Retirement Board in 2019.\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We want to notify you about an issue affecting all Medicare members who elected to pay plan premiums from their Social Security Administration (SSA) or Railroad Retirement Board (RRB) check.\u00a0<strong>This only affects your Part D Prescription Drug Coverage.<\/strong><\/p><br><br>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Background<\/strong><\/p><br><br>\n\n\n\n<p>Normally, when members select the payment option to withhold Prescription Plan Premiums from their monthly payment, the SSA\/RRB withholds funds from members\u2019 SSA\/RRB checks to cover their plan premiums. Unfortunately, due to a system issue, this did not occur for two or more months starting February 1, 2019. This issue affected all insurance carriers. Although the system issue is now fixed, the SSA\/RRB cannot retroactively deduct premium payments from members\u2019 checks.<\/p><br><br>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What do you need to do?<\/strong><\/p><br><br>\n\n\n\n<p>Because these members now have past-due accounts, their premium payment method has changed to direct billing, effective February 1, 2019.
