House Passes Full Repeal of ACA’s Cadillac Tax

The House of Representatives voted to repeal the “Cadillac tax” on high-cost employer health insurance and it will next be considered by the Senate.

The “Cadillac Tax is currently set to begin in 2022 and places a 40% tax on the value of employer-provided health coverage above a certain cap, initially projected to be $10,200 for individual coverage and $27,500 for family plans in 2018 when the tax was originally supposed to start. It has already been delayed twice.
